I was thinking about the number 12, the idea of a "dozen". It is a unit of measurement like a " dozen eggs", a "dozen donuts", " by the dozen" and or again a dozen whatever. My question was, can art be quantified numerically ? Why not a dozen paintings ? So I decided to do 12 oil paintings, all with the measurement 20 x 24 inches and using purple. My problem was that each painting opened infinite possibilities. This brought me back to the original question can art be quantified ? Anyway, this is my first " dozen" painted between May - July 2012.
